A few days ago I told you about the importance of using a good sunscreen and why it is necessary to use it daily. Sunscreen is the most important product of your beauty routine. In fact, if you only have time to use one thing, let it be sunscreen.
However, even knowing that sunscreen is very important to keep our skin young and healthy, it is sometimes difficult to choose the right product. The variety is infinite: there are all kinds of textures, finishes, fragrances, etc. and it can be difficult to find a product that fits everything we are looking for. With this post I want to help you find the perfect sunscreen: that you can use every day without getting tired of it and knowing that your skin will be very well protected.
In this comparison I have divided sunscreens according to the type of filters they incorporate in their composition:
1. THE BEST SUNSCREEN WITH PHYSICAL FILTERS:
As you will remember from my previous post about sunscreens, sunscreens with a physical filter reflect radiation, as a shield. They are the most appropriate ones for pregnant women and children, since they are not absorbed, but remain on the surface of the skin. The most common physical filters are zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, as we can see here:.

The Anthelios line from La Roche Posay is a classic. It has an immense variety of products that adapt to all skin types and to all tastes. In this case, I am going to talk about a product with physical filters designed to provide a very high sun protection (it is SPF 50). Among its ingredients it incorporates niacinamide and salicylic acid, so it is a great solution for those who have a certain tendency to oily skin.
The first thing you notice when applying it is that it has a very light and comfortable texture, it’s so easily spread. One aspect that I did not like too much is that it leaves a bit of residue (a kind of white cast), something characteristic of sunscreens with a physical filter, despite incorporating nanoparticles of titanium dioxide. That residue can be removed easily, but it can be annoying if you do not realize it’s there. The protection it provides is very good, it is not oily at all and I have used it throughout the day without feeling that it needed reapplication (although you already know that it is always convenient to do it).
In short, it is a very comfortable product to use. I will have to investigate if that residue is a result of my beauty routine, of the particular tube that I have or of the product in general, but removing that aspect is a highly recommended product.
2. THE BEST SUNSCREENS WITH CHEMICAL FILTERS:
Sunscreens with a chemical filter are characterized by absorbing ultraviolet radiation, instead of reflecting it. Some of its usual ingredients are oxybenzone, oxtinoxate, homosalate and octocrylene. Among their advantages, it should be noted that, by not leaving a film on the skin, their finish is usually invisible, without leaving that whitish rest typical of physical filters. I had read great reviews of this Paula’s Choice sunscreen, but I wanted to check for myself if it was worth the hype. Aaaand it became a clear favorite. Its texture is very light, closer to milk tan cream. Even though it takes a couple of minutes to get fully absorbed, the result is wonderful, it doesn’t leave any cast at all and my skin ends up glowing.
It was developed for oily skin, so even though its finish is glowy, it doesn’t feel greasy or heavy at all. It has SPF 50, and its composition includes antioxidants, so it’s a great sunscreen for daily use. I totally recommend it!

When La Roche Posay offered me to try this new product from their Anthelios line I was pretty intrigued. This sunscreen with chemical filters is designed for all skin types, including the most sensitive. There are two possible finishes: invisible and sheer. It is resistant to water and sand and hypoallergenic.
Its application is very comfortable, it is a very light product, it is absorbed in an instant and does not leave any kind of residue. It spreads very well and the colored finish barely leaves a very soft tint, so it is suitable for everyone. To highlight a negative aspect, alcohol denat. It is the second ingredient in its composition. It is a very comfortable product for day to day, but I am not convinced that they have used this type of alcohol so predominantly in its composition.

This sunscreen is very particular, since it includes physical and chemical filters for a better protection against solar radiation. It has SPF 50, and is designed to absorb quickly, without leaving white remains. If your skin is sensitive or has an oily tendency, this sunscreen can be perfect for you.
The sensation when applied is slightly thick, more than with other fluid sunscreens. The one that I have tested specifically is the tinted version, which does not leave much color but can be a good option for those first days of summer in which you still look like a ghost (which happens to me a lot) and you want to give yourself a little touch of colour.

As you can see there is a perfect sunscreen for everyone. You can choose one depending on what you like: more dense, lighter, with physical filters, with chemical filters, etc. In the end it is a matter of finding the one you like and using it daily, re-applying it and taking good care of your skin.
