🇬🇧▼ Ya puedes leer en mi blog mi review del @niod CAIL (link en mi perfil)! Clasificar este producto es un poco difícil, aunque quizás lo más acertado sería llamarlo sleep mask (mascarilla nocturna). Tiene una base de escualano que ayuda a prevenir la pérdida transepidérmica de agua y que funciona de maravilla en pieles secas. Ten en cuenta que no necesitas mucha cantidad de producto en cada uso (el equivalente a un guisante), pero si tu piel es grasa puede resultarte pesado. Entre sus ingredientes encontramos péptidos de cobre (GHK-Cu), que promueven la síntesis de colágeno y elastina, por lo que te ayuda a enfrentarte a arrugas y líneas de expresión. Además, funciona genial para prevenir la irritación y proteger tu barrera de la piel (por ejemplo, las noches que no uses retinoides). It has a squalane base that helps prevent transepidermal water loss and that works wonders on dry skin. Keep in mind that you don’t need much product on each application (the equivalent to a pea), but if you have oily skin it may feel a bit overwhelming. Among its ingredients we find copper peptides (GHK-Cu), which promote collagen and elastin production, so it tackles wrinkles and fine lines. Besides that, it works wonders to prevent irritation and protecting your skin barrier (for example, the nights you don’t use retinoids) I needed some time to adapt to its finish, but it certainly is a good product. We must keep in mind that exfoliating acids promote cell turnover, so an excess turns into an impaired skin barrier. If you overexfoliate it’s important to stop using acids until your skin recovers its balance. Besides that, you should aim to use ingredients like niacinamide or ceramides. 🇪🇸▼ Last weekend was my birthday, and it gave me a chance to think about time, age and its implications. There is a negative connotation towards age. Our society considers youth as the positive end of a spectrum in which ageing becomes negative. Growing older doesn’t necessarily mean getting wiser or more experienced, but life does give us a chance to learn over the years, to discover ourselves and the world around us and to create meaningful relationships that enrich us. Over the past years, there has been a debate going on in the skincare world: should we stop using terms like antiaging? It is a broad, comprehensive concept that most people grasp, although I believe it would be interesting to find a more positive alternative. As a slogan once said: wrinkles are beautiful. Let’s embrace growth, maturing, evolving and improving. Let’s accept the visible and invisible scars life leaves on us, they’re an expression of who we are and where we come from. What’s the experience that marked you for life?
_ Este fin de semana fue mi cumpleaños, una ocasión perfecta para reflexionar sobre el tiempo, la edad y sus implicaciones. Hay cierta connotación negativa que asociamos a la edad. Nuestra sociedad considera la juventud como el extremo positivo de un espectro en el que envejecer se convierte en algo negativo. El paso de los años no supone necesariamente que seamos más sabios o que hayamos vivido más experiencias, aunque sí implica más oportunidades para aprender, descubrirnos a nosotros mismos y el mundo que nos rodea y crear relaciones que nos enriquezcan. Durante los últimos años hay un debate en el mundo de la cosmética: ¿deberíamos dejar de usar palabras como “antiedad”? Es un concepto amplio y fácil de entender, pero quizás sería bueno dar con una alternativa más positiva. Como decía un eslogan: la arruga es bella. Aceptemos lo que supone crecer, madurar, evolucionar y mejorar. If I had to choose just one among them, it would be salicylic acid, since it really helps me keep blackheads under control. As in life, using acids requires balance. Even if you think that exfoliating daily is exactly what you need, abusing these actives can ruin your skin barrier, so find your own balance and you’ll see the best results! Los AHAs, BHAs y PHAs pueden marcar la diferencia en nuestra piel, ayudándonos a mejorar su luminosidad al promover la renovación celular, así que son un buen recurso que tener a mano conforme pasan los años. Si sólo pudiese escoger uno sería el ácido salicílico, que desde hace tiempo me ayuda mucho a mantener a raya los puntos negros. Como todo en la vida, el equilibrio es fundamental al usar ácidos.
