As I was saying, antioxidants are a regular part of my skincare routines. I usually incorporate them into my morning routines, since they enhance the anti-aging action of sunscreen, given that they prevent damage to the collagen and elastin fibers (responsible for keeping our skin firm) caused by ultraviolet radiation, among other factors. Although there are plenty of antioxidants available, my favorites include vitamin C (which you can read much more about here), resveratrol and vitamin E.

In this case, ByWishtrend have developed a moisturizer that incorporates 75% sea buckthorn water. This plant, native to the coldest regions of Europe and Asia, provides us with a large dose of various vitamins (A, C and E, among others) that are very rich in antioxidants. By incorporating this type of ingredients into our routines, in addition to helping to avoid damage caused by ultraviolet radiation, we can enhance the results provided by other ingredients, such as vitamin C. On the other hand, among the ingredients of this moisturizer we can also find citrus extracts and essential oils, something unnecessary and about which you can read more here.

The moisturizer, which is a fundamental part of our basic skincare routine, is key when it comes to providing us with the water that our skin needs, preventing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and, in addition, in cases like this it can help us enhance the results provided by other cosmetics that we use. I have said it on other occasions and I reiterate it, to me, finding the right moisturizer is very complicated, perhaps it is the part of my skincare routine that I find most difficultto get it right. There are many factors to take into account that can be key when determining if the product is what we really need or not.

The Moisturizer - REVIEW: ByWishtrend Vitamin 75 Maximizing Cream Texture

This moisturizer has a very light texture, which reminds me a bit of the texture of this Youth to the People moisturizer, which also gives us a good dose of antioxidants. It has a very pleasant citrus smell (due to the presence of the citrus extracts and essential oils I mentioned earlier), but its origin is, for me, a reminder that the composition could be a little more refined. It is watery and sinks in very easily, so it may be more suitable for morning routines (in which, normally, we prefer to use lighter products). As for texture, for me it is a fantastic cream, especially during the summer months, when I usually use lighter products than usual.

And what results does it bring? As I have mentioned in other posts, evaluating the results provided by antioxidants is complicated, since their work is often silent, helping us in a way that is not visible but that our skin deeply appreciates. I have observed that using this cream at night was insufficient for me, my skin needed more hydration (especially now, that I am using ingredients that tend to dry it out, such as retinoids). In the morning I do like the results it provides, since my skin gets the water it needs (and remains hydrated throughout the day) and, in addition, I manage to enhance the results of the vitamin C serum I currently use.

Although, in general terms, my evaluation of this moisturizer is positive, I think that at the moment I am not going to rpeurchase, since I want to finish other products that I have at home and I prefer to provide antioxidants directly to my skin through serums.

HOW TO USE:

You can use this moisturizer in your morning or night routines, interchangeably. Apply it after cleansing, toning and your serum, and if it is your morning routine finish by using a good sunscreen.

This graphic aims to help you understand in which part of your skincare routine you should use each product.
You don’t need to do all the steps from this routine (but you should always cleanse, moisturize and use sunscreen).
Remember it’s key to do a patch test every time you consider adding new products to your skincare routine.
