REVIEW: The Ordinary B Oil

Header The Moisturizer - REVIEW: The Ordinary B Oil
Do you have dry skin? Does your skin crave more moisturizing? Introducing an oil in your night skincare routines is a lovely way to rebalance your skin. In my review of The Ordinary B Oil I’ll explain you everything about its ingredients, how to use it and where to buy it, let me show you!

Helloooo! I’m back with a new review, today I will talk about one of those products that, if you know how to use them, will bring you great benefits when it comes to having a young, nourished and very, very moisturized skin. Do you want to know how my experience with The Ordinary B Oil has been and what I liked most about using it? Let’s get going!

BRAND: THE ORDINARY
PRODUCT: B OIL
SKIN TYPE: ALL
RECOMMENDED FOR: UNISEX

You can get this B Oil by The Ordinary on DECIEM (recommended).

The first reaction of many people when advised to use an oil to finish their routines is a combination of surprise and skepticism. Use an oil? But isn’t that going to give me acne? And can I use it on oily skin? The truth is that incorporating an oil into your beauty routines will be a breakthrough when it comes to keeping your skin well moisturized.

To understand the usefulness of oils, you have to stop for a moment to think about how our skin is and how it works. As I explain in more detail in this other post, the most external layer of our skin is composed of an emulsion of water oil, known as the hydrolipidic barrier or skin barrier. This layer is our first line of defense against all external agents that try to damage it, so by keeping it protected, we keep all our skin healthy. We have a tendency to think of oil as an enemy of our skin, but it really is a necessary part of it, so a lack of oil will bring an imbalance, mainly visible as dry skin, but sometimes we will also see it when pimples appear (as a consequence of a rebound effect: our skin lacks oil and tries to overcompensate it by producing more than it should).

The Moisturizer - REVIEW: The Ordinary B Oil

This B Oil from The Ordinary is a great way to start incorporating oils into your beauty routines, especially now in winter. It has a slightly dense texture, so I advise using it in your night routines so that it is progressively absorbed and you wake up with well nourished skin. Its smell is very characteristic, since this oil is made from a combination of micro-algae, so you can notice a certain smell that reminds you of the sea.

Among the composition of this B Oil we find various types of oils, such as marula oil, argan oil, rosehip oil and borage oil, combined to give your skin that extra nutrition that will seal the hydration brought by the rest of the products of your beauty routine, making it even more effective.

Regarding its results, this oil is undoubtedly one of my favorites. It is true that its dense texture makes it especially suitable for the colder months, when our skin requires even more hydration and a good oil makes a difference in our routines. It is a product that, despite being slightly dense, is well absorbed, leaving a very light film on the skin that disappears completely in the morning. And my favorite part of using this B Oil is actually when the next morning I get up and feel my skin much smoother and moisturized. Once you start using it you will think: what have I done all my life without using an oil?

Honestly, I am delighted with this oil. It has become a true favorite for me and I would buy it again without thinking twice. If you are looking for a good product to preserve skin hydration, here you have the right one.

HOW TO USE:

As you know at this point, oils are a great way to finish your beauty routines. I like to use them especially in the night routines, but you can also incorporate them in the morning ones, especially if you have dry skin. Apply it after your moisturizer and you will see how your skin turns much more moisturized and nourished.

This graphic aims to help you understand in which part of your skincare routine you should use each product.
You don’t need to do all the steps from this routine (but you should always cleanse, moisturize and use sunscreen).
Remember it’s key to do a patch test every time you consider adding new products to your skincare routine.

I do use B Oil as well and I love it!

But my concerns is, DECIEM says that it brings out radiance but there is an article that says algae fasten natural melanin production.

What is your opinion about this?

      Hi Erha, welcome! 😊

I really enjoy it too, it’s a great product for my winter night routines!

The only article I’ve found regarding what a higher production of melanin through marine algae speaks about Shewanella algae BrY, which isn’t present in this product. However, if you find any more data on the topic I’d like to read it! 😉

      Have a great day,
      Nacho.

I started using several ordinary products, and ordered them in two or three per product. I followed all the advices . But then all the products a have me a bad reaction. So I stopped using them for two weeks. Then just to satisfy my curiosity I started to retry using them again but sad to say all those problems I had happened again.
