Do you use a toner or essence in your skincare routines? Do you know in which step to apply them? In my review of the ByWishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence I’ll explain you that and more so you can see if it’s what your skin needs, where to find it and the results to expect!
Hello! Today I am going to tell you about a product that I received from the Wishtrend team and that has become a regular of my morning routines over the last month: the ByWishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence. Do you want to know my opinion? Keep reading!
PRODUCT: QUAD ACTIVE BOOSTING ESSENCE
SKIN TYPE: ALL
RECOMMENDED FOR: UNISEX
The toner is, perhaps, one of the most difficult ingredients to justify. When we think about our basic skincare routine it is easy to believe that the toner is something accessory or unnecessary. However, the benefits that incorporating one of our routines can bring us are many. On the one hand, it helps us to rebalance the pH of the skin after cleansing, thus improving the absorption of the serums we apply. In addition, it provides us with an extra hydration that our skin always appreciates. You already know that hydrated skin is healthy skin.
Although this product is, in particular, an essence, you can use it perfectly as a toner. If you want to do a more complete skincare routine, you can use it after a hydrating toner (such as this one from Pyunkang Yul) and then continue with the rest of your routine.
In this case, ByWishtrend has developed a product that incorporates mulberry and white willow extract, as well as fermented black tea and propolis, all of them rich in antioxidants and with important anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. This toner does not include perfumes among its ingredients.
If you follow me on social media and have read other reviews on the blog you will know that my skin is often sensitized (by using powerful ingredients or, more commonly, as a result of shaving). This makes using products with calming ingredients a regular part of my beauty routines, so being able to try this ByWishtrend essence has been a fantastic opportunity to see if it helped me improve that sensitivity and irritation.
Regarding its texture, it is a very watery product, it is easy to apply and it spreads very comfortably. It has no recognizable scent and, precisely because of that liquid texture I mentioned, it is quickly absorbed. This aspect, although it may seem irrelevant, for me is fundamental in my morning routines, since I usually go in a hurry and it allows me to finish the routine earlier.
And is it an effective product? Definitely. On the one hand, as far as what the product promises (helping us to reduce irritation to sensitive skin), I have noticed quite a positive result. In addition, since I started using it, I have observed an improvement in my skin’s hydration, so I am happy to have been able to try the product.
When I finish this product I will not buy it again, since right now I have several toners at home and I want to finish them before buying new products. In time it may be possible to buy it again, but I’m still not sure.
HOW TO USE:
You should apply this product immediately after washing your face, applying it with light pats on the skin. You can use it interchangeably in your morning and night routines. Then, continue your routine with the steps you already know: serum, moisturizer and, if it’s your morning routine, sunscreen.
This graphic aims to help you understand in which part of your skincare routine you should use each product.
You don’t need to do all the steps from this routine (but you should always cleanse, moisturize and use sunscreen).
Remember it’s key to do a patch test every time you consider adding new products to your skincare routine.
