REVIEW: I'm From Ginseng Mask

You might remember I’m From from my review of another one of their masks: the Volcanic Mask, which works great if you’re looking to clean your pores and regulate your oil levels. The masks from this brand are amazing, I have not yet tried any that I have not loved.

In this case, I’ll tell you about a mask whose main component is ginseng, specifically red ginseng extract and ginseng root oil. Ginseng is a plant widely used in traditional Chinese medicine, used for a lot of purposes. In cosmetics, it is used for its antioxidant properties, which help your skin to deal with free radicals that gradually damage it, making it less elastic and firm (and thus increasing the signs of aging). When we apply antioxidants what we do is help our skin stay young for longer.

One of the most curious things about this mask is its way of giving your skin that dose of antioxidants. Before using it remember that you must wash your face so that your skin is able to absorb all the nutrients. To apply it you just need a very small amount of product that you must massage firmly to penetrate well into the skin. As soon as you start doing it, you will notice a very pleasant warm sensation: the ginseng extract heats up, opening the pores so that the toxins leave at the same time as the antioxidants penetrate your skin. This way, you can protect your skin while you cleanse it.

As I said, among the ingredients of this mask there is a good dose of ginseng to nourish your skin, remove toxins and help you stay young. In addition, it also contains licorice extract, with soothing properties, and hyaluronic acid, to help improve your skin’s hydration. One thing that I did not like about this mask is that it contains fragrance among its ingredients. It is true that it is at the end of the ingredients list, but it really is not necessary to include it, so they could have skipped it.

And what results does it bring? Well, every time I use it (once a week or every two weeks, depending on my needs), I notice a waaay softer and more hydrated skin. It reduces my fine lines and it is very soothing, so it’s great if you’re looking for a good relaxing mask.

As with the rest of I’m From masks, the container in which it comes is very practical and the product lasts forever. The container is made of glass and contains 120g of product. Taking into account that every time I use it I spend less than the equivalent of half a teaspoon, this mask lasts a lot.

This is one of my favorite masks, without a doubt. If you want to keep your skin protected and soft, this is for you. I am sure that I will buy it again once it is finished, although seeing how slowly it is used there is still plenty time before that day.

HOW TO USE:

You need a really tiny amount of this product every time you use it. You will have to take around half a teaspoon and extend it well, massaging it into the face so that the mask warms up and penetrates well into your skin. Then you just have to let it act for about twenty minutes, remove it with lukewarm water and continue with the rest of your beauty routine.

To me, the best way to apply this type of face masks is with a spatula like this one, since that way you’ll avoid directly touching the product with your hands and thus you’ll reduce the risk of contaminating it. Also, you’ll notice how this way it’s way easier to evenly distribute the product all over your skin.
