Header The Moisturizer - REVIEW: Cerave Foaming Cleanser
Are you looking for an inexpensive facial cleanser? Haven’t you found the right product to begin your skincare routines? Check this review of the Cerave Foaming Cleanser to see if it’s a right fit for your skin. I know that choosing a facial cleanser isn’t easy, but I’m sure that my experience will help you.

Hello! A few weeks ago I shared my review of the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser, a great product for those who have dry skin or are looking for an effective but very gentle cleansing that respects the skin barrier. Today I am going to talk about another of the brand’s cleaners: their foaming cleanser. Do you want to know if it is the right one for you? Keep reading!

BRAND: CERAVE
PRODUCT: FOAMING CLEANSER
SKIN TYPE: ALL, RECOMMENDED FOR COMBINATION TO OILY SKIN
RECOMMENDED FOR: UNISEX

You can find the Cerave Foaming Cleanser on Lookfantastic.

A good facial cleansing is very important when it comes to maintaining the balance of your skin barrier. In your morning routines, it helps you to remove the particles that may have deposited on your skin during the night (although if you have dry skin you can do without cleaning in the morning, simply splashing some water on your face). When we wash our face at night we remove the cosmetics that we have applied in the morning (sunscreen, makeup, etc.) and, in addition, other particles that may have deposited on the skin through sweat, contamination, contact with clothing and other surfaces, etc.

For me, doing a double cleanse is essential in my night routines, since when using an oil-based cleanser we remove all oil-soluble particles (such as sunscreen and makeup) and with the water-based cleanser we remove all the other particles so that the rest of our beauty routine is more effective and we can hydrate and care for our skin properly.

In this case, CeraVe have developed a water-based cleaner that incorporates mild surfactants to perform a cleansing that is very respectful with our skin barrier. It is necessary to consider that, as I indicated at the beginning of the review, this cleanser is designed to be used on combination and oily skin, so if this is your case, you will probably need to wash your face with it in your morning routines too.

In addition to this, the cleanser incorporates very interesting ingredients, such as niacinamide, which helps to rebalance oil levels and prevent redness, hyaluronic acid, about which you can read more here and which helps to improve skin hydration and ceramides, which help keep our skin hydrated, healthy and protected. This cleanser does not include perfumes or essential oils among its ingredients.

One thing that I value very positively about Cerave cleaners is their availability in large formats (in this case, up to 473 ml), which allows you to buy it only once and not have to think about restocking the product for a long time. I myself have that 473 ml format and I can assure you that it is very, very durable. And why is the product so durable? Because of another aspect that I really like about it: you don’t need a lot of product to wash your face properly. In fact, with the size equivalent to a chickpea you have more than enough to perfectly wash your face and neck.

Now that you know a little about the composition and characteristics of this foaming cleanser from Cerave, you are surely wondering what the experience is like when using it. It has a gel texture with a silky finish. The color of the product is transparent and has a neutral scent. As its name indicates, as soon as we rub it lightly between our hands, it makes a significant amount of foam and when spread it on the face the sensation is very pleasant.

And what results does this product bring? I have been able to observe how it performs a very effective cleaning but not aggressive at all. In this way, I am able to remove all the particles from my skin without damaging my skin barrier. Even though it is true that it is a more suitable product for those of us who have combination skin, I believe that we can all benefit from it as long as we adapt it correctly to our skincare routines.

After using it for a while, I am certain that this cleanser (like the hydrating one) is among my favorites, so once I finish it I am sure it will continue to be part of my skincare routines for quite some time.

HOW TO USE:

You already know that facial cleansing is the first phase of all your skincare routines, and this cleanser can be used interchangeably in your morning and night ones. After moistening your face with lukewarm water, take a small amount of the product (the equivalent of a chickpea), rub it lightly between your hands until you see it begins to foam, then gently massage your face. Remove it with plenty of lukewarm water and finish your beauty routine with toner, serum and moisturizer (if it is your morning routine, you already know that you also always have to apply sunscreen).

This graphic aims to help you understand in which part of your skincare routine you should use each product.
You don’t need to do all the steps from this routine (but you should always cleanse, moisturize and use sunscreen).
Remember it’s key to do a patch test every time you consider adding new products to your skincare routine.

Hi Nacho! For a fellow oily-combo like me, would you recommend getting the foaming cleanser or the hydrating cleanser? Which one is better in your opinion?
