I have been meaning to share this comparison about hyaluronic acid serums with you for a while. In this guide, in which I explained why this is one of the best ingredients that we can use to improve skin hydration, providing an extra water inside and helping to keep it young and firm.

Hyaluronic acid is a very versatile ingredient that helps improve skin hydration and maintain its structure. We can incorporate it interchangeably in our morning and night routines, always after cleaning and keeping the skin moist before applying it (since, if we apply it to dry skin, the result may be opposite to what we are looking for).

Finding your perfect hyaluronic acid serum is not always easy, but after reading this article I am sure you will know which one is the best suit for your skincare needs.

1. THE ORDINARY HYALURONIC ACID 2% + B5.

I already shared my review of this serum from The Ordinary, which you can read here (LINK). Like most products you can see in this comparison, this serum incorporates panthenol (which provides us with more superficial hydration) in addition to hyaluronic acid (of which we find a 2% concentration).

This serum is one of the most inexpensive ones you can find, making it a good option to start incorporating hyaluronic acid into your routines.

It is a product with a fairly dense texture, and perhaps one of the main disadvantages that I see is the sensation that remains on the skin after applying it, which is sticky and can be uncomfortable in the first uses. In any case, since afterwards you will continue your routine with your moisturizer (and your sunscreen, if you use it in the morning), that feeling is brief and more than bearable.

2. THE INKEY LIST HYALURONIC ACID.

This is another of the economic serums from this comparison and you can also read its full review here. It differs from the previous one in that it does not incorporate panthenol and that, in this case, in addition to sodium hyaluronate, we also find hyaluronic acid itself among the ingredients.

This serum from The Inkey List has a fantastic texture, very light and comfortable to use. In fact it is, so far, one of my favorite hyaluronic acid serums when it comes to sensoriality when applying it. Unlike other hyaluronic acid serums, this one does not leave the sticky feeling that characterizes many.

The results provided by this serum are also very good, helping to improve skin hydration and providing visible results.

3. HADALABO GOKUJUN PREMIUM HYALURONIC SOLUTION.

This is the best hyaluronic acid serum that I have found so far regarding value for money, since the packaging incorporates much more product than most serums (170 ml vs. 30 ml of a standard serum).

In this case we find a product with various types of hyaluronic acid within its composition to provide us with deep and highly effective hydration. And, indeed, this product does what it promises, as it provides great hydration.

I like to try different hyaluronic acid serums, but this is always a good basic to return to, I totally recommend it.

4. HADALABO ADVANCED NOURISH HYALURON LOTION.

I already had good references for this brand after trying the other Hadalabo serum on this list, and while travelling, I saw the opportunity to try this product, which also incorporates various forms of hyaluronic acid (which facilitates its absorption and effectiveness), I didn’t hesitate.

The texture of this serum is very light, practically watery, but leaves a soft film on the skin that completely disappears after applying the moisturizer. The sensations when using it are very positive, since it provides good hydration in a comfortable and effective way, so I definitely recommend it.

5. KLAIRS RICH MOIST SOOTHING SERUM.

This is a fairly dense serum and with a more complex composition than others we have seen in the comparison. Specifically, in addition to hyaluronic acid we also find extracts of centella asiatica and licorice, both with soothing properties and a mild derivative of vitamin C (sodium ascorbyl phosphate), which provides us with antioxidants. However, the presence of certain potentially irritating essential oils, such as those of citric origin or lavender, make their composition not among my favorites.

This is a practical serum, since its texture is soft and light (although it is one of the densest I have used) and you can use it in all your morning routines without it being uncomfortable or annoying. You don’t need a lot of product to get effective hydration.

6. MEDIK8 HYDR8 B5.

In this case we find a high-end serum. The Medik8 team sent me a mini-size so that I could try it and have a first impression about the product. It is a somewhat thicker serum than others that appear in this same comparison, but it is absorbed very easily and the sticky sensation that characterizes hyaluronic acid when applied is relatively low.

In its composition we can see that the proportion of panthenol is slightly high, and that there is a higher proportion of this ingredient than of sodium hyaluronate itself. In addition, among other ingredients, we can see that it also incorporates various antioxidants, as well as lactic acid. This serum does not include perfumes or essential oils among its ingredients.

I cannot make a full assessment of its effectiveness, as that would require a longer use, but the sensations I had when using it were positive, so now I would like to be able to test the full size and thus have a more global view of the results. that will bring me.

7. NIOD MULTI-MOLECULAR HYALURONIC COMPLEX (MMHC2).

This NIOD serum is probably one of the lightest products that you will find in this comparison. Its texture is very, very watery and it gets applied very comfortably, absorbing quickly.

Among its ingredients we find three forms of hyaluronic acid (including pure hyaluronic acid), in addition to other compounds that help improve skin hydration, providing the water it needs to stay healthy and balanced in the short, medium and long term.

8. PAULA’S CHOICE HYALURONIC ACID BOOSTER.

You know that Paula’s Choice is one of my reference brands, they develop very effective products and they have an immense range, which allows us to find something that fits the different types of needs that our skin may have.

In this case, they have developed a serum that includes hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronate and ceramides among its ingredients, helping us through immense hydration to the skin while keeping our hydrolipidic barrier protected.

The sensations when applying the product are positive, it is not sticky at all and its texture is slightly dense but well balanced. Perhaps, if you are looking for a more advanced product that provides your skin with more than just hyaluronic acid, it may be a suitable option for you. If what you are looking for is a simpler product, there are other ones you may prefer in this same comparison.

9. VICHY MINERAL 89.

The composition of this serum seems to me excessively simple, and in terms of value for money I think it is one of the worst ones in this comparison. From the brand they already report that 89% of its composition is water. I understand that it is the base of infinity of products, since it is a very cheap excipient, but using it as a claim seems quite striking to me.

As for ingredients designed to improve skin hydration, the most prominent presence we find is sodium hyaluronate. Its texture is very light, more watery than in most serums of this type, so that absorption is practically instantaneous.

I had very high expectations with this serum and I admit that it did not perform as well as I expected. It is possible that, if you have tried more products of this type, you’ll have higher standards and therefore you’ll aim for deep hydration, so I think I would opt for other serums that I have incorporated into this comparison before this one.

10. THE CHEMISTRY BRAND HYALURONIC CONCENTRATE.

This is quite a particular one, and that’s because this hyaluronic acid concentrate was designed to be used all over the body. When we talk about cosmetics we often think exclusively of those that we apply on the face, but we must remember to protect and pamper all our skin.

In this case, in addition to hyaluronic acid, DECIEM have incorporated other ingredients with important moisturizing properties, such as tamarind and tremella fuciformis sporocarp extract. This combination of ingredients provides us with a very deep hydration, helping us to keep all our skin cared for.

The results provided by this product are fantastic. I like to apply it on wet skin after showering, then apply my moisturizer. It is most effective, as you extend it you can appreciate how the water from the surface of the skin gets absorbed, clearly showing its results.
